Chin State
Chin State is a state in wastern Myanmar. Its capital is Hakhar. To the north and east of Chin State is Sagaing Division, to the south are Magway Division and Rakhine State, to the west are Bangladesh and India.There are 14 townships in the Chin State ,Kampalet and Mindat are the most interesting tour sites of this area.
Kanpetlet is a small town in the southern Chin State. With a population of only around 2,000,158 miles away from Bagan –Chauk –Kazunma- Saw- Kampetlet, 12 miles ( 1 hour) drive a way from Saw.Lovely town with fantastic view , built on the slope of the mountain,close to the sky , pleasant weather and Pine forest, smiling local people , trekking to the Tatoo lady villages and visit to the Nat-Ma-Taung or the Mt. Victoria nature park in the Chin State. Chin Textile , Local Taung Za Lat wine are the most attraction of this Chin Hill.
Legend of Tattoo
There are 4 different tribes , Munn, Dai, Makhan & Kcho old ladies wore the Tattoo on their face with the different Tatoo patterns , Tatoo can be call Pa yae.
According to the legend the Chin women are famed for their tattooed faces, a tradition that began when they put ink on their faces. The ink for facial tattoo is made from some special plans with dark green color and soot.
It is said by Kcho elder people that the purpose of tattooing is to avoid being chosen as concubines by the Burmese kings. Burmese kings and nobles used to come to Chin Hills and choose for the beautiful Chin girls. To avoid their women being captured by
the Burmese, they had no way but to destroy this beauty. This they done by tattooing the face of young girls. Although nobody could authenticate the validity of this story.
